Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is well known for its Joint Support properties, is a deep orange colour and is a member of the ginger family. The plant has broad leaves and a bulb type root and grows to a maximum height of 1metre.

It is the Curcuminoids found in the broad leaves of the plant, that are what provides joint and muscle support. These curcuminoids are better known as curcumin and scientific studies have demonstrated curcumin to have strong anti-oxidant properties. These anti-oxidants are what help to neutralise free-radicals, resulting in joint and muscle relief.

Turmeric has been used as a medicine, spice and colouring agent for thousands of years and has been listed in herbal texts as far back as 600 BC.
